About Us

Mir Wais Khan Kakar (1974-2013), the owner of M/S Mir Mines and Minerals, was born in Muslim Bagh in 1974 into a family of mine owners. His grandfather, Haji Shah Zameer, began mining chrome ore in Muslim Bagh in 1924. Mir Wais developed an interest in the chrome ore business in 1990. He worked diligently to increase the production of his mines and adopted modern mining techniques. He maintained strong and positive relationships with other mine owners, which enabled him to supply chrome ore to exporting companies in Pakistan. He conducted business with almost all major chrome ore export companies in Pakistan, building an excellent reputation in the industry. In 2005, he began exporting chrome ore from Pakistan. During the fiscal year 2007-08, he exported 57,000 metric tons of chrome ore to China. He consistently provided his Chinese buyers with high-quality material, ensuring timely shipments and maintaining a strong track record. In 2009, Mir Wais Khan Kakar established and registered his own company, M/S Mir Mines and Minerals, offering the world’s best quality chrome ore, both metallurgical grade and refractory grade, on a regular basis. The supply of Refractory Grade Chrome ore became the specialty of Mir Mines and Minerals, making it Pakistan’s largest Refractory Grade Chrome Ore Export Company.
The company has achieved ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 certifications.
After the passing of Mr. Mir Wais Khan Kakar on September 21, 2013, his younger brother, Mr. Zafar Ullah Khan, assumed ownership of the company in November 2013. He continued the business in the same manner as his late elder brother, adhering to the principles of clarity, brevity, and empathy.
